Biographical / Historical
Hungarian born violinist Joseph Sgizeti studied and traveled extensively in Europe prior to immigrating emigrated to the United States in 1939 to escape the rise of Nazism. Though ultimately remaining in the United States and becoming a naturalized citizen, Szigeti continued his extensive international touring schedule for most of his life. Joseph Levine was both a pianist and conductor who studied under Josef Hofmann and Fritz Reiner prior to his graduation in 1937.
