Biographical / Historical

Walter Vassar, a baritone, studied voice at the Fort Worth Conservatory (1925-28) and the Curtis Institute of Music (1928-33) where he received the degree of Bachelor of Music in 1934. In 1935, after briefly teaching at DePauw University, he became head of the Greensboro College vocal department where he remained until his retirement.
