Biographical / Historical
Verne Q. Powell was a flutist and the founder of Verne Q. Powell Flutes Inc. The company, still in existence today, also crafted Kincaid's famous platinum flute (originally produced for the 1939 World's Fair) which was given to Shaffer after Kincaid's death.
