Volume 9 (page 1260-1518), 1920-1922
Description
Farnam started his collection of organ specifications in two school exercise notebooks when he attended the Royal Collage of Music in London in 1900-04. In addition to these two early notebooks, the series consists of ten bound volumes, in which Farnam recorded all organs that he encountered during his career, including house organs. The specifications include organ stops (often with reeds in red ink), and may include historical information, personal evaluations, and a date in cases he was asked to inaugurate or "open" the organ. In addition, Farnam sometimes included photographs, pamphlets, clippings, and other materials that he glued or kept loose in the books. The series includes an index to the volumes, organized by place name.
