Biographical / Historical
Rhadames Angelucci (1915-1991) was principal oboist from 1938-1980 with the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, later the Minnesota Orchestra. He was a student of Marcel Tabuteau at Curtis Institute, and upon his graduation in 1936 at the age of 21 was hired by the Minneapolis Symphony as English horn and third oboe player, being promoted by conductor Dmitri Mitropolous to first oboe in 1938. Angelucci became one of the foremost oboists of his generation.
