Biography

Milton Adolphus (January 27, 1913 - August 16, 1988) was a composer and pianist from the Bronx, New York City. He graduated from Curtis in 1935. In his career, he composed over 200 orchestral, vocal and chamber works. He served as Director of the Philadelphia Music Center, Musical Director of a State Employees’ Choral Society, organist of the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg, founding member of the American Composers Alliance, board member of the League of Composers, active in the United States Civil Rights Movement and chairman of the Peace Corps Service Council.
